Purpose of the Job

To support the Marketing and Brand Executive with all marketing content initiatives across multiple platforms and in varying formats to attract new customers, increase existing customer engagement and improve retention of customer base. You will be:

  • Create engaging content for both existing customers and prospects alike, which they would wish to retain for future reference.
  • Distribute of content through appropriate channels including social media to maximise company growth opportunities.
  • Measure the results of content marketing activities.

Main Responsibilities/Duties of the Job

Company Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style and quality, optimised for search and user experience including online, social media, mobile, print and in person.
  2. Ensure that all content has maximum exposure to customers and/or potential new business.
  3. Assist with the development of a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives for the short and long term recommending the methods that work for the brand and explaining why.
  4. Consistently review and recommend how the content strategy can evolve as the organisation continues to grow and expand its geographical reach.
  5. Contribute towards developing standards, systems and best practices for content creation, distribution maintenance and archiving.
  6. Adherence to agreed content practices.
  7. Draft or redraft complex technical guides, emails and scripts simply allowing the end user to understand the process or information.
  8. Support managers across the business to create compelling useful and relevant content for customers.

Internal Team and Broader Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to the sharing of good practice and knowledge amongst colleagues, as required.
  2. Attend and participate in regular team meetings as appropriate and training to keep up-to-date with current legislation, policies and procedures and other relevant guidance.
  3. Be compliant with EPM employee policies and procedures.
  4. Provide support for other colleagues when necessary.
  5. Proactively participate in the EPM Appraisal process.
  6. Maintain high levels of confidentiality and integrity at all times.
  7. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Person Specification

EssentialDesirable
Degree level qualification, or equivalent, in a relevant subject e.g. English language, journalism or marketing
Five 9 - 5 GCSEs including Maths and English, or equivalent
Ability to establish good working relationships and gain credibility with a range of customers quickly. Experience of working in a customer focused environment.
Ability to prioritise multiple projects and work well under pressure to strict deadlines. Experience of working in marketing.
Ability to think creatively whilst analysing quantifiable data to measure value and success of projects. Experience of working in the education sector.
Knowledge of social media advertising through Facebook or similar platforms.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues both verbally and in writing switching styles, tones and platforms as required.
Ability to contribute proactively to a strong team working culture.
Able to demonstrate careful attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to demonstrate sound proofreading and editing skills to create high quality content and documentation.
Excellent ICT skills including use of Microsoft office.
