Purpose of the Job

In this role you’ll be at the heart of helping us shape the newly formed Sales & Marketing Team. Responsible for ensuring we diligently track, respond and close every single new business opportunity, no matter the conclusion. This will be a varied role where you will get to develop new skills working closely with the Sales & Marketing Director and support the wider Sales & Marketing Team to convert all new business opportunities.

This is a consultative role where you will liaise with a diverse selection of customers and prospects in the education sector. Whilst you won’t have to develop new business from scratch you will have well developed sales skills, such as being able to think on your feet, being flexible in your approach, and having the professionalism and personality to influence key stakeholders. With a strong and growing portfolio of services and products to help our customers, you will enjoy a varied role, actively discussing service solutions with education stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities/Duties of the Job

Company Responsibilities

  1. Converting new business opportunities through inbound and outbound sales activity selling professional services into the education sector.
  2. Manage inbound leads and web enquires and convert into fully qualified opportunities through online and/or face to face meetings.
  3. Conducting fact finding calls with a consultative and professional approach to establish the prospects needs to ensure they are good fit with our Company and we maintain our exceptionally client retention rates.
  4. Nurture and manage a sales pipeline of opportunities using sales software.
  5. Follow-up on targeted marketing campaigns to new business prospects and provide a seamless support to marketing colleagues.
  6. Achieve assigned targets, KPIs and strategic objectives.
  7. Attend new business meetings when required.

Internal Team and Broader Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to the sharing of good practice and knowledge amongst colleagues, as required.
  2. Attend and participate in regular team meetings as appropriate and training to keep up-to-date with current legislation, policies and procedures and other relevant guidance.
  3. Be compliant with EPM employee policies and procedures.
  4. Provide support for other colleagues when necessary.
  5. Proactively participate in the EPM Appraisal process.
  6. Maintain high levels of confidentiality and integrity at all times.
  7. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Person Specification

EssentialDesirable
Five 9 - 5 GCSEs including Maths and English, or equivalentPrevious experience within the education sector
Honesty, integrity and excellent relationship management
Track record of business to business sales experience
Track record of meeting targets, goals & KPIs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience of consultative selling over the phone
Excellent people skills for working with a range of prospects
Good organisational and time management skills
Strong emotional intelligence
Well presented, professional, articulate with a consultative approach
A self-starter – able to act on own initiative with drive and determination
An understanding of the education market would be beneficial
An understanding of sales software would be beneficial
