Ely St John's Primary School is looking for a Midday Supervisor to work here during the lunchtime period (to begin as soon as possible)
Play leaders are on duty daily (Mon - Fri) for 1 hour 15 minutes during the lunch period (11:50-13:05 or 12:00 -13:15 depending on role in either KS1 or KS2).
Salary Scale: between £9.18 and £9.36 per hour (44 week year).
Purpose of the Job:
To ensure the safety of pupils during the school during lunchtime and to positively encourage children to make good choices by following our behaviour code - the EJ Way. To support and improve healthy eating choices, activity levels, behaviour, inclusion, participation and/or conflict resolution.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
You will supervise pupils, during the lunch period, in the dining hall, classrooms, playground areas and/or school premises, ensuring the safety, welfare, physical and mental well-being of pupils and the encouragement of positive, pro-social behaviour. You will encourage children to make good choices. Your duty is to be vigilant, to notice good behaviour, and to intervene early to prevent problems arising.
Midday Supervisors will be first aid trained on appointment. When you are first-aid trained, you will administer first aid treatment to pupils as needed, and record accidents and treatment using the school’s procedures.
Midday Supervisors will work within one team – either Early Years and KS1, or with KS2. All Midday Supervisors however, must be able to work in either team to suit the needs of the school.

Interviews will be held in the week beginning Monday 29th April, with the post commencing as soon as possible following appointment and once all safeguarding checks have been completed.
