Midday Supervisory Assistant
Hours: 7.5 (Monday to Friday, 11.45 – 13.15. We would consider a job share) Scale 1 - £9.00 per hour. To start as soon as possible.
As our school grows, we are looking to add to our team of Midday Supervisory Assistants to join our friendly and hardworking Academy. Duties will include ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils during the lunch break, including the adherence of school policies and procedures while in play areas or during wet playtimes in class.
You will need to be well-motivated and have a calm manner with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will need to be able to relate well to children and organise play activities.
Swaffham Junior Academy is part of Diocese of Norwich Educational and Academies Trust (DNEAT). We are a friendly school situated in the growing market town of Swaffham. There are currently 239 children on roll from years 3 to 6. However, we are looking at an exciting future from September 2020 when we convert into a primary school with children from years R to 6.
Ofsted recognised (March 2018) that we are a ‘good’ school. We are looking for an inspirational person who is passionate about ensuring our children have a positive lunchtime experience to join our team.

Job Purpose Working within a team, to assist with the supervision of pupils during the Academy lunchtime.
1 Supervision of children in all areas of the school, including the hall, play areas, classroom – as directed by the Head/Deputy Head/ School Business Manager in order to ensure the safety and good behaviour of the children.
2 Supervision of children during the meal to ensure that a good atmosphere is maintained. Encourage good eating habits and assisting children where necessary.
3 The maintenance of good order at all times to ensure school standards are adhered to.
4 General assistance in the dining area as necessary, e.g. wiping up spillages to ensure a safe and ordered environment is maintained at all times.
5 Supervision of movement of pupils to and from the hall in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the pupils.
6 Set up and clear away tables and chairs in the hall.
