The Diamond Learning Partnership Trust (DLPT) is looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer to join a multi-academy trust and support the HR Team.
You will be responsible for all payroll related tasks. You will be responsible for collecting and reviewing employee information and working hours, calculating wages, preparing and processing employee payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records.
Key Responsibilities Include
Preparation of all company payrolls, to set tight deadlines.
To investigate and resolve payroll issues and ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards
Entering data into payroll and administrative databases and software programmes
Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
Performing account balance and payroll reconciliations.
Preparing financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management.
Review payroll prior to sign off, highlighting anomalies and investigating discrepancies.
Assist with month end procedures including submission of Tax and NICs, 3rdparty reporting.
Reconciliation of all payroll transactions and working closely with our Finance Department.
Reporting, reconciliation and payment of 3rd party supplier payments including to Courts and Pensions provider.
Work closely with HR function to ensure continued improvement of processes and continuity of data transfer to Payroll.
Issuing tax forms (P45s for leavers, P60 at the end of financial year), updating system with new tax codes with the Paye coding notice from HMRC
Desirable Skills and Qualities Required:
• Experience in working in payroll or a similar role
• Experience with BPS and Edupay.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices
• Experience working with accounting and payroll software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• High numerical aptitude
• Detail oriented
• Experience with LGPS pensions and experience within the educational sector.
Duration of Post Fixed Term. One year only with potential extension.
Work Commitment 41 weeks (term time only)
Hours 37 hrs per week
Salary Range Salary Scale (Point 13 £22,021.00 FTE (£19,713.03 pro rata).
